AN4AA Postgraduate Talk Series

The Australasian Network for Asian Art (AN4AA) is pleased to announce the AN4AA Postgraduate Talk Series, a new initiative commencing in 2025. Building on the momentum of the annual postgraduate symposium over recent years, the AN4AA Postgraduate Talk Series welcomes postgraduate students (MA or PhD, including recent graduates) to share and discuss their Asian art research throughout the year. Research may be at any level of progress and completion to be shared within the collegial setting of the AN4AA research network.

We invite submissions on any area of the arts related to the broad geography of Asia from the past to the present, from disciplines including art history, theory and criticism, museum and heritage studies, curatorial and creative practice-led research and interdisciplinary research. We are also interested in the history and present of entanglements between Asia and the world, including Asian diasporas in Australia and beyond.

AN4AA consists of researchers, including academics, curators, artists, and post-graduate students from Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, who work in the field of Asian art. The postgraduate talk series endeavours to highlight current postgraduate research on Asian art across various disciplines and cultivate a collegial space for sharing research insights and feedback among postgraduate peers and senior scholars.
